Our gov’t means business; we’re are not taking a year to appoint DCEs – Dafeamekpor

Majority Chief Whip in Parliament, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has said President Mahama’s administration is serious about its ‘resetting Ghana’ agenda.

Speaking on the government’s progress 30 days into office, the South Dayi MP noted that President Mahama has formed cabinet, made appointments, forming his government with alacrity to set the ground running.

Dafeamekpor stated that contractors for abandon road projects have also been asked to resume work while some negotiations are taking place for projects to begin across the country.

“Cabinet has been formed, ministers have been sworn-in. Appointments are flowing in with alacrity. We don’t have a government that will take us one year to even appoint DCEs. By the end of this month, DCE nomination would be out unlike previously where for one year we don’t have DCEs and Assemblies will be suffering.

“Projects are being negotiated…this is a government that means business about resetting the country,” he stressed during an interview on TV3’s Hot Issues, February 9.

He explained that the NDC will soon elect District Chief Executive Officers to commence work at various assemblies unlike the previous administration which took a while to appoint DCEs after assuming office.
