Kim Björkegren Names Full-Strength 24-Player Black Queens Team for Côte d’Ivoire Games

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has announced a 24-player squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Cote d’Ivoire, scheduled for May 30 and June 3, 2025.

The matches form part of the team’s preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place from July 5 to 26 in Morocco.

The squad features a mix of experienced internationals and fresh faces, with most of the players retained from last month’s friendly series against Senegal.

Among the new additions are midfielder Nancy Amoh of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and goalkeeper Afi Amenyaku of Northern Ladies, both earning their first senior call-ups after impressing in a training camp at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram.

Also joining the squad for the first time are Abigail Kofi Kim, who plays for Ankara BB Fomget in Turkey, and defender Louisa Animwaa of Portuguese club Valadares. Returning to the team are Grace Acheampong (TP Mazembe) and Alice Kusi (Al Ahli), both of whom missed recent engagements.

Black Queens will face Cote d’Ivoire’s Les Éléphants in the first match on May 30, followed by a second encounter on June 3, as they intensify preparations for the continental tournament.
