One of the most prominent Surveyors in Ghana, Kofi Obeng Ayirebi has been inducted as the new President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors.
He becomes the 57th President of the Institution.
The investiture was the high point of a week-long activity – the 20th Surveyors Week and 56th Annual General Meeting of the Institution at the La Palm Hotel.
The 20th Surveyors Week and 56th AGM served as a platform for the surveying fraternity to exchange ideas on how to make society feel and appreciate their importance in town planning and development.
Until his elevation, the new President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, Kofi Obeng Ayirebi was the Senior Vice President.
He took over from Dr. Anthony Arko-Adjei who served from 2024-2025. Mr. Obeng Ayirebi began his surveying career in 1991.
He served in various capacities within and outside the Ghana Institution of Surveyor. In a speech, the immediate past President of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors, Dr. Anthony Ako-Adjei indicated that the institution had made strides during his tenure.
He said that not withstanding, there is still more to be done to meet the growing demand within the space.
Addressing the media, the President elect Mr. Kofi Obeng Ayirebi thanked members of the institution for the confidence reposed in him.
He noted that top on the agenda for his one year reign is to push for the passage of the Surveying Council Bill, ensure more public engagements on the role of surveyors, as well as work towards sanitising the industry.
The Guest Speaker – Apostle Alexander Larbi – of the Church of Pentecost entreated surveyors to uphold transparency.
Other executive members were also sworn into office.
