ORAL Committee presents final reports to Mahama


The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team established by President Mahama to receive all complaints of suspected corruption-related activities has presented its final report to the President.

Chairman of the ORAL Committee, Okudzeto Ablakwa noted that a total of 2417 complaints were received within the duration of which the committee was tasked.

Out of the number, 1493 calls were received through toll-free lines and 924 emails were received,

Presenting the report to the President, Okudzeto Ablakwa said the number of complaints received vindicates President Mahama in his effort to deal with corruption and accountable governance.

“Were would all of these people have gone if President Mahama had not set up the team so President Mahama has been vindicated,” he said.

Ablawka said the websites and toll-free lines were set up for free by patriotic selfless Ghanaians who had interest in accountable governance.

“Over the last 53 days we have reviewed these petitions. 44 were received directly from civil society organizations and other public-spirited citizens.

“59 of the 290 cases revealed in the document were cases that had come up during the period the NDC was in opposition,” he added.
