Defence Minister tours Burma Camp; promises to build on successes of predecessors


The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah has reaffirmed the Ghana Armed Forces’ commitment to the defence of Ghana’s territorial space.

He gave this assurance during the maiden visit of the Defence Minister, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah to Burma Camp on Monday, 10 February 2025.

The CDS also highlighted the Ghana Armed Forces’ unwavering commitment to the development of Ghana through its specialised units like the Engineers, Education, Medical etc.

He assured that personnel would continue to exhibit high standards of professionalism, discipline, loyalty, integrity and dedication at all times.

Dr Omane Boamah on his part, stated that he would enhance the pace of development, building upon the foundations laid by his predecessors. He commended the CDS for the progress made by the Armed Forces and also stressed the importance of motivating the personnel.

As part of the visit, the Minister was led by the CDS to tour the Service Headquarters, Duala Redevelopment Project, National College of Defence Studies complex and the Duala hospital project, among other ongoing projects in Burma Camp.

He also inspected some new accommodation/classroom facilities at the Ghana Military Academy.
