Police launch manhunt for thugs who disrupted Council of State elections in Kumasi

The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a group of thugs who stormed the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and disrupted the Council of State Regional Elections in Kumasi.

The chaos unfolded as EC officials were about to begin counting ballots, leading to the destruction of all voting materials.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers, described as macho men, forcefully halted the process, creating confusion and disorder at the polling center.

They’ve destroyed all the ballots just when the EC officials were about to begin counting,” a witness recounted to TV3.

Police officials have confirmed that they are reviewing all available footage to identify and arrest those responsible for the disruption and destruction of electoral materials.

Authorities have assured the public that justice will be served and all those involved will be held accountable.
