You’ve made Ghana peaceful, stronger – President to Asantehene

President John Dramani Mahama has declared that the reign of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has greatly benefited Ghana and made the nation stronger.

Describing the Asantehene as a national figure, the President noted that his impact on peace and development extends far beyond Asanteman.

President Mahama made these remarks in a message delivered on his behalf by a Deputy Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, at the World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Dinner Ball.

According to President Mahama, the Asantehene has not only upheld the legacy of the Ashanti Kingdom but has also expanded it in ways that benefit the entire nation.

The President pointed to critical moments in Ghana’s history when the country faced serious challenges and the Asantehene stepped in to help resolve them.

Citing the Dagbon chieftaincy conflict as a key example, President Mahama recalled how Otumfuo Osei Tutu led mediation efforts that ultimately resulted in the enskinment of a new Ya-Naa in January 2019, ending years of violence and instability.
