Augustine Ahinful Stresses Importance of Victory Over Chad for Black Stars

Former Ghana striker, Augustine Ahinful believes Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad.

After failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars will regroup for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The four-time African champions will host Chad in the Matchday five games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 20.

Kick-off for the game is scheduled at 19:00 GMT.

After the team endured a torrid 2024, Ahinful believes the Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad.

“Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad on Friday,” he told Asempa FM.

Ghana will fly to Morocco to play Madagascar on Monday, March 24 in the Matchday six games.

The Black Stars after playing in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022 World Cups in Germany, South Africa, Brazil and Qatar will be hoping to win the upcoming games to strengthen their position in Group I as they aim to play in the Mundial which will be hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
