IGP and Bawku Naba Unite for Peacebuilding Dialogue

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, is scheduled to meet the Bawku Naba, Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, today.

The purpose of the meeting is to promote peace in the community following clashes between the police and some local youth.

Mr. Yohuno arrived in the Upper East Region yesterday, leading a high-powered delegation to Bawku after a violent confrontation that resulted in the death of a civilian and injuries to several others, including security personnel.

According to a statement released by the Ghana Police Service on April 10, 2025, the IGP was accompanied by a team of operations, investigation, and intelligence officers to gather firsthand information and assess the current security situation.
