Nuaso Gains 6-Unit Classroom Block Thanks to Ja Rule

American rapper Ja Rule has officially opened a six-classroom addition to St John’s Anglican Basic School in Nuaso, Eastern Region, marking the latest milestone in his Ghana-focused charity work.
The project, completed on Monday (1 April 2025), was developed in partnership with an international non-profit organisation, Pencils of Promise.
But the hip-hop star isn’t stopping there – he revealed plans to construct a gymnasium and other recreational facilities at the site.
“Education is something I’m really passionate about. Beyond classrooms, I want to build more facilities, including a gymnasium and other extracurricular spaces that will enhance learning for these kids,” Ja Rule said.
The initiative reflects Ja Rule’s growing ties to Ghana, following similar efforts by Diasporan celebrities like comedian Michael Blackson, who built a free academy in Agona Nsaba.
The rapper’s philanthropic push comes as he prepares to honor his late business partner Irv Gotti at this year’s Hot 97 Summer Jam.
